Arthur’s Vineyard Rules:

Arthur’s Vineyard swim team exists because summer is for the kids to have fun, get good exercise, experience teamwork, and build community. We will motivate them and get them excited about swimming, but we will not push them to a level of stress, defeating the whole fun purpose of summer swim team. Please encourage your swimmers AND their teammates daily.

Absolute respect for the coaches and coordinators is expected at all times. We are here to swim and have fun, but behavior problems will not be tolerated. The coaches and parent volunteers reserve the right to ask a swimmer to leave practice.

Parents, please cooperate with our policy not to discuss any complaints with the coaches personally. The coordinator is in place to be objective in the event there is a disagreement. The coaches are employed by the swim team; please approach one of the swim team volunteer adult coordinators if the need arises, and they will work out a solution.

Only coaches and practicing swimmers are allowed on the pool deck. For safety, please keep your non-practicing swimmers, yourselves, and all others off the pool deck. All parents and sibling that are attending practice must stay under the covered pavilion or in the snack bar area, and away from the pool.

Please do not distract your swimmer during practice by talking to them or by giving them eye contact, either for praise or instruction. If you have a concern, please see one of the parent coordinators.

When practices are completed for the day, the coordinators must insure the pool area is vacated and locked. Please leave the fenced pool area promptly after all practices are complete. If paying AVCA members arrive while the pool is being vacated, they can enter the gates with their own key and use the facility according to posted pool hours and rules.

The baby pool will be closed during all practices and swim meets. If younger siblings are attending practice please keep them under the shelter and off the pool deck. The tables and chairs by the baby pool may be used for ADULTS ONLY during practice.

All swimmers 10 and under must have adult supervision at the pool during practice hours. Swimmers may be there with a responsible adult other than the parent, or a babysitter.

Kids are not to play in the creek while a practice is going on.
